President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerian political leaders to sharpen their focus on meeting the needs of the impoverished and vulnerable populations. He underscored the significance of selfless leadership that prioritizes the well-being of the populace.

He commended the positive developments already underway, praising the government’s focus on people-centered policies that are beginning to show improvements in human development metrics and economic growth indicators.
Recognizing the collective effort behind the nation’s economic reforms, the President attributed success to the dedication of FEC members and the cooperative spirit among leaders at the subnational level. He recalled the shared resolve during their initial FEC meeting, where the metaphor of “fetching water from a dry well” illustrated the hard work necessary to rejuvenate the economy. President Tinubu reiterated his administration’s commitment to utilizing government resources to alleviate the burdens on citizens, stressing that leaders at all levels should prioritize spending in service of the people rather than allowing them to shoulder the costs.
Encouraging leaders to reflect on the long-term consequences of their actions, President Tinubu stated that future generations would evaluate their contributions to national advancement. He urged them to see themselves as navigators steering the nation toward a prosperous future, reminding them that holding public office is a significant privilege that carries substantial responsibility.
Emphasizing the rich diversity of the nation, the President compared Nigeria to a large family residing in various rooms of the same house. He highlighted the importance of unity and shared advancement, urging leaders to adopt an inclusive and collaborative approach in their governance.
