In the coming days, military leaders from Britain, France, and Ukraine will convene to capitalize on the “real momentum” in enhancing Ukraine’s security, as stated by a spokesperson for British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Monday.
This meeting, aimed at advancing the next phase of detailed planning, was arranged during a phone conversation between Starmer and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, according to the spokesperson.
The discussion followed a gathering of a “coalition of the willing” from various European nations that support Ukraine in its conflict with Russia, which took place in Paris last week. This coalition pledged to bolster Kyiv’s military capabilities for future security.

During the Paris meeting, France and Britain also sought to broaden support for a proposed foreign “reassurance force” in the event of a ceasefire with Russia.
“The leaders reflected on their visit to Paris last week and concurred that there is significant momentum to ensure long-term support for Ukraine’s security,” the spokesperson for the prime minister remarked.
In a separate statement, Zelenskiy expressed his appreciation for Britain’s role in applying pressure on Russia.
“Substantial pressure is essential to prevent Russia from escalating the war, especially as Moscow now openly ridicules our partners’ efforts to advance the peace agenda,” Zelenskiy stated.
On Monday, the Kremlin announced that Russia and the United States were exploring potential ideas for a peace settlement in Ukraine.
