Belgian authorities have detained seven Chinese individuals linked to a prostitution ring that exploited Chinese women, according to a statement from the federal prosecutor’s office on Wednesday.
Prosecutors reported that the group was involved in the sexual exploitation of approximately 30 Chinese women based in Brussels. Although their operations were primarily centered in Brussels, the victims were found working at 16 different prostitution venues throughout the country, frequently changing their locations.
“The Brussels Federal Judicial Police have dismantled the criminal activities of an alleged group of Chinese offenders involved in the sexual exploitation of women from China. The victims were engaged in private prostitution across various regions of the country,” the prosecutor’s office stated.

It was noted that on March 20, 16 searches were conducted, leading to the arrest of seven suspects.
The investigation also uncovered that some of the women apprehended in Belgium had previously been involved in prostitution in the Netherlands.
Prosecutors confirmed that all victims had been interviewed and were provided access to a protection program, in partnership with a specialized center for victims of human trafficking.
