According to exit polls conducted on Sunday, the first round of the Romanian presidential election shows George Simion, a hard-right candidate, in the lead. Trailing Simion is centrist candidate Crin Antonescu.
Another exit poll also indicated Simion in first place, with centrist candidates Antonescu and Nicusor Dan running very closely for second place.
