French far-right leader Marine Le Pen stated on Monday that a court’s ruling preventing her from holding office due to the misuse of European funds disqualified her from the 2027 presidential election. She expressed doubt that her appeal would be resolved before the election.
“To be clear, I am the one who has been eliminated, but in truth, it is millions of French citizens whose voices have been silenced,” Le Pen remarked during an interview with broadcaster TF1.
She further indicated that if she were able to successfully challenge Monday’s decision in time, she would pursue a presidential candidacy.
