Bang, bang, bang. Louis Sarkozy discharged his firearm. On January 21, Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States when, in Ashburn (Virginia), the son of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy visited a shooting range, a hobby he nurtured over 17 years of living in the US. He was joined by Nicolas Conquer, a spokesman for the Republican Party in France, who is in his 30s.
Conquer sported a Texan-style mustache embodying the Make America Great Again (MAGA) ideals cherished by Trump’s supporters. Sarkozy himself lauded Donald Trump and the new US “golden age” on X: “Ambition, strength, clarity, greatness.” At the age of 27, he advocates for the Second Amendment of the US Constitution, which affirms the right of Americans to keep and bear arms: “I’ve got a wife; I have to protect mine,” he states to anyone who will listen.

By the end of February, Sarkozy will be departing with an impressive gun collection, which includes a 1945 Lee-Enfield rifle, a Martini-Henry black powder rifle, a Winchester 1892 short rifle (similar to those used by cowboys in Hollywood westerns), a pink Glock pistol inscribed with his partner’s first name, and a Remington Model 10 shotgun. The youngest son of ex-president Sarkozy is returning to France after growing up in New York, where he resided with his mother, Cécilia Attias, and stepfather, Richard Attias; rural Pennsylvania, where he attended a military boarding school; and the outer suburbs of Washington, Maryland, where he lived with his Croatian wife, Natali.
