At GITEX Africa 2025 in Marrakech, Morocco, Nigeria’s National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) Director-General, Kashifu Inuwa, made a strong pitch to international investors, highlighting the vast potential of Nigeria’s rapidly expanding digital economy.
Inuwa emphasized Nigeria’s demographic advantage, citing its large, young, and tech-literate population. With over 70% of citizens under 25, Nigeria presents a dynamic workforce ready to drive innovation in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The upcoming GITEX Nigeria 2025, scheduled for September 1–4 in Abuja and Lagos, was presented as a key opportunity to witness Nigeria’s digital capabilities firsthand and forge strategic partnerships. Inuwa stressed the Nigerian government’s commitment to developing digital infrastructure, promoting digital skills, and fostering a supportive ecosystem for startups and scale-ups.
“Nigeria is open for business,” Inuwa stated, urging investors to engage with the country’s tech sector now, rather than waiting for it to fully mature. The government is actively seeking collaborations to build a robust digital economy that can drive sustainable growth and technological advancement across Africa.
