Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has called on all members of the Armed Forces to remain patriotic and committed to their professional duties, ensuring peace and stability in the country. The statement was made as Nigeria marked its Independence Day anniversary.
General Musa emphasized that the Armed Forces, under his leadership, would prioritize patriotism and loyalty to constituted authorities, recognizing the significant responsibilities placed on the military.
“As a nation, there are norms and values that bind us together, of which if we make collective efforts to promote, the nation will be better for all,” he stated.

He also highlighted the military’s role in supporting Nigeria’s democratic government. “It is a thing of joy to note that for the past twenty-five years, the AFN has remained in the barracks, while supporting the democratically elected government to lead the affairs of the nation,” he said.
The statement, signed by Acting Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, also conveyed the Armed Forces’ salute to Nigeria’s founding fathers, acknowledging their contributions to the nation’s independence
