The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ogun State has alerted the public to a fraudulent recruitment advertisement circulating on social media, urging citizens to disregard the false claims. The command clarified that no official recruitment process is currently underway.
In a statement from Abeokuta on Tuesday, NSCDC spokesperson Dyke Ogbonnaya revealed that a criminal syndicate is exploiting the identity of a senior officer to mislead unsuspecting applicants.
Public Advisory: Stay Vigilant
Ogbonnaya stressed that all legitimate NSCDC recruitment exercises are only announced through official channels and verified media outlets. He urged citizens to remain cautious and report any suspicious activities.
Meanwhile, the Corps’ intelligence and surveillance team is working to track down and apprehend those behind the scam. Distancing both NSCDC and the senior officer from the fraudulent scheme, Ogbonnaya issued a firm warning to the perpetrators to cease their activities.
Commitment to Transparency
Reaffirming the Corps’ commitment to transparency in its recruitment processes, Ogbonnaya assured the public that any genuine hiring initiatives would be publicized through proper communication channels to prevent misinformation.
