The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is making bold strides in digital innovation under the leadership of Samuel Ogbuku. As the region moves toward economic growth, Ogbuku is guiding the NDDC to embrace digital transformation that empowers youth and drives development.
While commissioning the NDDC iHub in Bayelsa State, Ogbuku highlighted the commission’s commitment to tech-driven progress. He explained that the hub will train young people in technology, encourage innovation, and create jobs. Located in Yenagoa, the state capital, the facility offers digital tools, mentorship, and access to global markets.
This project reflects the NDDC’s broader focus on inclusive growth. Ogbuku emphasized the commission’s shift from short-term projects to sustainable programs. By building local tech capacity, the NDDC is helping youth play an active role in the digital economy. The iHub will also draw global interest and boost local problem-solving through technology.
Stakeholders at the event praised Ogbuku’s leadership and the NDDC’s forward-thinking approach. They applauded the creation of a space where young developers, marketers, and engineers can collaborate. The hub goes beyond infrastructure—it promotes creativity in a region long affected by underdevelopment.
Ogbuku spoke about the commission’s renewed direction. He said NDDC now focuses more on people and opportunities than just roads and buildings. He also stressed the importance of working with the private sector and civil society. These partnerships, he noted, are key to long-term success.
The NDDC plans to establish similar digital hubs across the region. Ogbuku confirmed that every state in the Niger Delta will benefit from this initiative. He believes technology can lift young people out of poverty and urged private partners to get involved.
Ogbuku expressed strong faith in the region’s youth. He acknowledged their creativity and talent but said many lack the tools to grow. Through his digital agenda, the NDDC aims to change that. The commission wants to create a space where skills can thrive and earn recognition.
He closed by thanking President Bola Tinubu for supporting development efforts in the region. He also appreciated Minister Abubakar Momoh and other key stakeholders who helped realize the iHub project.
With Ogbuku at the helm, the NDDC is positioning the Niger Delta as a rising force in Nigeria’s digital future. The iHub launch signals more than a milestone—it marks a shift in how the region prepares its youth for global relevance and lasting growth.
