Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, has commended President Bola Tinubu for significantly improving the Commission’s funding. Speaking during a courtesy visit by the executive of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bayelsa State Council, Ogbuku praised Tinubu’s leadership. He also acknowledged the positive changes in the Niger Delta since the President assumed office.
Ogbuku praised Tinubu for boosting NDDC funding. He said the improved support has helped the Commission move faster with its development plans. For years, NDDC struggled with limited funds and often could not complete key projects. But since the current administration took over, funding has improved. The Commission has resumed projects that were once stalled.
He explained that the Tinubu-led government has been consistent in releasing funds. This has enabled the NDDC to plan better and deliver real impact. According to Ogbuku, this shift has made it easier to implement new strategies. It has also helped rebuild trust with communities across the region.
Ogbuku said the Commission’s new approach includes partnering with private investors. He believes collaboration is essential for driving large-scale development. Under his leadership, NDDC now focuses on creating value through sustainable and people-driven projects.
During the visit, the NUJ praised Ogbuku’s leadership style and transparency. The journalists highlighted visible changes in how the NDDC communicates with the public. They also noted improvements in how the Commission handles project execution. They described Ogbuku as a proactive leader who listens to the people’s needs.
Ogbuku assured the NUJ of the Commission’s commitment to development and openness. He said the media plays a key role in shaping public opinion and strengthening accountability. He stressed that ongoing media engagement would help correct misinformation and keep the public informed.
Ogbuku praised the Tinubu administration again. He stated that improved funding has given the NDDC confidence to launch more transformative projects. Roads, bridges, water systems, and healthcare projects have received renewed attention. Communities that were once neglected are now seeing progress. He believes more success stories will unfold in the months ahead.
Ogbuku urged stakeholders to support current development efforts. He said progress is a shared responsibility and encouraged citizens to monitor projects and report issues. By working together, he believes the Niger Delta will benefit more from this new era of support and stability.
He also assured journalists that NDDC will continue to provide updates on all major activities. Transparency and public trust remain top priorities. The Commission wants the public to stay involved in every phase of development.
In closing, Ogbuku praised Tinubu for boosting NDDC funding and ensuring the Niger Delta is no longer left behind. He described the President’s support as timely and strategic. He said it gives the region a new sense of hope and direction.
