Ukraine has the capability to continue its resistance against Russia for the remainder of the year, bolstered by support from Europe, according to Poland’s Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, who spoke on Sunday.
“With our European backing, Ukraine can sustain its fight independently throughout this year, and I believe Putin must consider this,” Sikorski stated during an interview with CNN.
When asked about his discussions with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio regarding potential security guarantees for Ukraine, Sikorski emphasized that the strongest assurance for Ukraine lies in its nearly one million-strong military, which is actively countering Russian aggression.
Reflecting on the situation three years ago, Sikorski remarked, “If you had asked me where Ukraine and Russia would stand in this conflict today, I doubt either of us would have predicted that Russia would have only managed to seize 20 percent of Ukraine’s territory.”
