In response to the political climate in Rivers State, President Tinubu recognized the area’s importance, describing the Niger Delta as the “goose that lays the golden egg.” He emphasized the need to nurture this essential region to sustain its contributions to the nation’s economy. Obong Victor Attah, former governor of Akwa Ibom State and co-chair of the PANDEF Board of Trustees, called for additional intervention in the Rivers State crisis, stressing that instability in the region could have wider repercussions for national peace and stability.
