The foreign ministers of France and Senegal announced in a joint statement Wednesday that they would form a joint commission to coordinate the withdrawal of French forces from Senegal and the return of French military installations by the end of 2025. “The two countries intend to work towards a new defence and security partnership that takes into account the strategic priorities of all parties,” stated the statement.
