The death toll from Sri Lanka’s devastating floods and landslides rose to 607 on Friday as hopes faded for another 214 still missing, the Disaster Management Centre said.
It said over two million people had been affected by Cyclone Ditwah, which moved away from the country on Saturday, leaving a trail of destruction across the island of 22 million people.
