On Sunday, April 6, authorities apprehended two young men in Dunkirk, a northern French port city, and charged them with offenses that may have averted a potential suicide belt attack in the region. The Interior Ministry reported that this incident marks the third foiled attack since the start of 2025.
The National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office stated that the two individuals face charges of “participation in a terrorist criminal conspiracy and possession of explosive materials.” This information was initially reported by radio network RTL and the Le Parisien newspaper. Additionally, a third individual has been charged with “failure to report a terrorist crime” and is currently under judicial supervision.

All three suspects are young adults, with the primary suspect being a 19-year-old radicalized individual residing in Dunkirk. Security sources indicate that he was under administrative surveillance by intelligence services due to making online threats against Mila, a figure who received death and rape threats in 2020 at the age of 16 for posting anti-Islam videos on social media. She has since become a far-right influencer.
