
The organizer, Grève féministe (Feminist Strike), reported that approximately 250,000 individuals participated in around 150 demonstrations throughout France, with 120,000 of those in Paris alone.
However, police estimates for the capital’s turnout were significantly lower, citing only 47,000 attendees.
Among the demonstrators were members of the Femen activist group, who protested against former US President Donald Trump. They marched topless, displaying either the US or Russian flags, both marked with a swastika painted on their bodies.
Numerous women have accused the Republican of sexual misconduct, and his administration has faced criticism for implementing policies perceived as detrimental to women’s rights.
“This is a battle, and it’s far from over,” stated 49-year-old Sabine, who was joined by her seven-year-old son.
“We’re making progress: Trump and the masculinists may make a lot of noise, but they are not as powerful as we are,” she conveyed to AFP.

In the evening, the Eiffel Tower was illuminated with a message of support for Afghan women, whose rights have been severely restricted since the Taliban regained control. The message, “SOS Afghan Women,” was displayed in French, English, Farsi, and Arabic.
Salary disparities were a primary concern for many participants, as the average salary for women in France is approximately 14 percent lower than that of men for equivalent work, according to the national statistics institute Insee.
