JALINGO, Nigeria – The Tiv Traditional Leaders’ Council in Taraba State has commended Governor Agbu Kefas for his efforts to foster peaceful coexistence and drive inclusive development across the state.
The commendation was issued in a statement following a three-day leadership workshop for traditional rulers, organized by the Tiv Traditional Leaders’ Supreme Council, which concluded on Saturday in Bali Local Government Area.
The council, in a statement signed by Chief David Tela and Zaki Targema Ukange, praised Governor Kefas’ leadership style for promoting unity and stability in Taraba State.
The Tiv leaders expressed their support for the governor and called for renewed dialogue to resolve the long-standing conflict between the Tiv and Jukun communities in southern Taraba.
The council also acknowledged the governor’s inclusive governance model, which has resulted in the appointment of Tiv individuals to key positions, signaling a commitment to justice and fairness.
The Tiv leaders emphasized the importance of loyalty to traditional institutions to preserve cultural values and strengthen local governance. They encouraged traditional leaders to improve their leadership skills, particularly in organization, crisis resolution, and emotional intelligence.
