Build Up
The duo’s musical partnership dates back to 2019, when they released the hit single Blow My Mind from Davido’s album A Good Time. That same year, Chris Brown featured Davido on Lower Body from his album Indigo.
Their collaborations continued with Shopping Spree in 2020, featuring Young Thug, which appeared on Davido’s A Better Time. In 2022, they teamed up again on Nobody Needs To Know from Chris Brown’s Breezy.
One of their most successful records, Sensational (2023), featuring Lojay, earned both artistes their first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 and secured a nomination at the 2024 Grammy Awards for Best African Song Performance.
Their most recent collaboration, Hmm, appeared on Chris Brown’s 2024 album 11:11.
Ahead of the joint album, both stars are set to release individual projects. Davido has indicated that his next album will lean heavily into his African roots, while Chris Brown is preparing to drop his 12th studio album.
There are also strong indications that the collaboration could be followed by a global tour, with fans anticipating performances across Europe and Africa.
Davido is currently on the European leg of his 5ive Alive Tour, continuing to expand his international footprint as anticipation builds towards the joint release.
